Hurray For The Weekend!

I‘ve been itching to try Weekend for ages. The Weekend Kitchen and Taproom is a gastropub located at The Greenery. The chef and one of the owners is Jan Rodriguez, the main man behind IlaPuti, a long time favorite. The opportunity presented itself during our dear JR’s birthday celebration. Confused on where to dine, I told the crew we should check out Weekend.

Each of us decided to order different meals so that we can sample different dishes all at once. The verdict? We were not disappointed! The Weekend lived up to the Best New Restaurant of 2017 award. Everything was as tasty as the pictures. Leave your diets at the door and bring your appetites.

 

Royally skewed. A taste of the Middle East with Angus Beef Kebab. Grilled, aromatic herb and spice infused Angus beef sits on mujaddara, with a touch of tzatziki

 

I don’t even like fish, yet I’m thinking about it like an obsessed lover. Fish & Chips – steaming, hot, crispy, beer-battered fish, cider slaw, hand-cut double fried fries. I’m hungry just writing this post.

 

Bacon should be a major food group. Bacon Bourbon Steak is maple-glazed, grilled bacon with pickled onions, grilled tomatoes, and eggs. If you don’t like bacon, we can’t be friends.

 

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?! Fat Bastard is a thick cut, dry-rubbed, bone-in pork chop with roasted garlic, greens, and dirty rice. Omit the rice and you get a keto-friendly meal.

 

Not your ordinary bird. The Fireburd is roasted chicken on a bed of cauliflower purée, baby arugula and roasted potatoes dressed in olive oil. It’s a healthy indulgence.
